Where do we Go from Here…

I was reminded recently of several things that have happened over the past eight years or so in a post made by a friend of mine. My conclusion…It is truly a wonder that we survived as a nation. The “well was poisoned” and every attempt in the world was made to discredit, destroy, and defeat the man that we just elected as President. We opened our borders to those that would seek to harm us, inflated the cost of everything through uncontrolled spending, called each other every conceivable name, and acted in ways that are indescribable. And it continues today even after Trump received a mandate from the American people that they were not happy with what we have become as a nation.

In addition, we have given our newly elected President almost limitless power through a majority in the Senate and what may also become a majority in the House. The Supreme Court has approved certain protections for any president. He has pledged to reverse or stop policies in everything from the Green New Deal, the climate, boarder controls, and energy. Do you recall, however…

When women marched in Washington (vagina hats and all) the day after inauguration? Trump supporters, cabinet members, and spokespersons being attacked and harassed? Riots and lootings, the take-over of entire neighborhoods, and calls for de-funding the police without any consequences and, in fact, support from government leaders. Illegal spying on ordinary citizens. The biased news reporting; a 95% negative coverage in the news. The lies, deceit, the misinformation, Lawfare (the political use of our legal system to bring incredible actions against enemies) and the “gloating” over the predictable outcomes.

And do you remember “a comedian” holding up the President’s severed head, a play in Central Park (produced with public funding) showing the killing of President Trump, Nancy Pelosi tearing up the State of the Union Address in her seat behind the President? How about non-stop and live fact checking, obvious lies to your face and open cover-ups from the media, and state governors asking and getting everything they asked for and then blaming Trump for their problems.

The January 6th assault on the Capital should also be pointed out along with the retention of certain documents, verbal name calling, defiance of democracy, and the promise to be a dictator (even taken totally out of context).

This list is endless, but you get the idea. We have become heavily divided, angry, and out-right mean as a nation. Evil has invaded our nation. Abraham Lincoln, facing his own trials, said it best, “A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved — I do not expect the house to fall — but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other.”?

The people of this great nation spoke last week and declared the direction they want to see this nation go in. This will not be possible, however, if there is a significant movement from within to continue to try and divide us and to continue the fight for what they clearly lost. We cannot be dictated to by a small minority of people so committed to their ideology that they cannot back down or allow others to stand without trying to tear everything down.

Where do we go from here? There is only one path that we can take. Regardless of your concern, or your politics, one thing is certain: no one can take away your?power of choice. We all have the privilege of choosing our political candidate, as well as choosing how we, as individuals, contribute to the betterment of this country, our?communities, even our own families. No one is powerless. But no one can also demand what is no longer theirs to demand.

It may appear impossible to fix, broken beyond repair and unable to be salvaged, but we have done it before. Individuals and groups of people have tried to take us down the wrong paths. We have even fought a war of brother against brother, but we survived. We formed a more perfect union, the envy of the world, a light on a hill, and the hope for all humanity. The American Dream is still possible. A more affordable, safer and more secure America is possible.

We can help keep the world safe from war and the evil that does exist. This is OneTRUTH Leadership! Will you join me?
