Where to Dig and How to Mine

Where to Dig and How to Mine

Knowing where to dig and how to mine are equally important.

2020 saw a lot of project postponements and outright cancellations due to the new C-word. In fact, more construction projects were cancelled than begun, according to a survey of contractors by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). As a result, finding projects with the most stability and longevity just became all that much more critical. For many trades, public work has proven a solid pony to bet on.

Fun fact: The General Services Administration (GSA) owns and leases over 376.9 million square feet of space in 9,600 buildings in more than 2,200 communities nationwide. Why am I telling you this? Because next month the National Glass Association is taking an AIA-accredited deep dive on the glass and glazing requirements of the GSA, addressing applications for bird-friendly, protective glazing, security glazing, energy and daylighting. We aim to show glaziers, fabricators, suppliers and architects alike where to find these jobs and what’s required.

For the cool kids that already have a decent grasp on the GSA requirements (not me), it’s worth noting that the GSA P100 (the Facilities Standards for the Public Buildings Service) guidelines are being updated and you can hear the new GSA requirements only at the NGA Glass Conference.

And who better to hear it from than Lance Davis, AIA, LEED Fellow, MSU Fellow, the sustainability architect for the US General Services Administration.

All going down online February 9th at the NGA Glass Conference.

Get your shovel ready, public design and construction contracting opportunities abound!

We could put some equipment on these jobs for sure.
