Where did this year go?
Where did this year go?
“Where did this year go?” is a phrase often quoted this time of year. Time in all actuality does not change its cadence, tempo or speed, only our perception varies. Time appears to move quickly when you go on vacation while crawling at a snail’s pace during a root canal. Our perception of time’s movement is not the issue, it is what we do with the allotted time given to us.
The generation which grew up during the Great Depression became experts at not wasting anything. My parents came from that generation. I believe my father valued his life experiences and did not want them to be wasted or lost. He took every teachable moment as a chance to share and extend this knowledge to me. He passed these desires to me. I don’t like to waste anything, especially the experiences my heavenly Father has shared with me. The past 3 years have been driven by my desire to finish well and to share the information, experiences and material I have gained through my many years of assisting hurting people. This information and material does not belong to me but to my Father. My job through the years was to pay attention to what he was revealing at the time.
This past year, God convicted me regarding my lack of faith in the area of my personal and ministry finances. I have been aware for most of my adult life that I have never fully trusted God with this area of provision. Surrendering involves handing over burdens or worries you have no control over with no strings attached. As a personal act of faith and surrender this year, I released all the services and material provided by Perfect Hope at no charge. I want our material and message of hope to be available to as many hurting people as possible without delay or hesitation. As humans we cannot live without hope and this is especially true for those who are hurting in fear and isolation. With this step of faith, the ministry is now 100% dependent upon God’s provision. This financial provision comes through the giving of God’s people. When you donate to support missionaries, you are participating in ministering to people you are unable to personally reach. But without that support that reach would end. That is the case for Perfect Hope. Your support allows you to participate in reaching hurting people but without your support that reach will end. The absolute greatest thing in the world is for God to use you in ministering to his children. I am amazed and humbled that he would ever use me to do his bidding but I am thankful he did. Supporting the ministry of Perfect Hope allows you to experience the knowledge and delight that our Father is using you. Please consider today becoming a monthly or one time supporter of Perfect Hope.
