Where Did the Birthdays and Work Anniversaries Go on LinkedIn?

Where Did the Birthdays and Work Anniversaries Go on LinkedIn?

Have you noticed that the Notifications bell on your LinkedIn toolbar no longer includes birthdays, work anniversaries, and such? These notifications have always been a helpful prompt to re-engage with connections or to share a little LinkedIn love with a friend. See my article, Breaking the Ice With LinkedIn. But don't worry; this information is still available on LinkedIn—it's just moved to a new spot under the Network icon.

Navigate to the Network icon. LinkedIn has organized updates under the Network icon into two major categories: Grow and Catch Up.

  • Grow: This is where you'll see all the invitations you've received. If you get many invitations, you can sort which ones you want to see by selecting “See All” to see the sub-categories: All, Pages, Newsletters, Events, People. Click on the sub-category you want to see and go from there.
  • Catch Up: The info about people that used to be under the Notifications icon can now be found under the Network icon in the Catch Up category. Again, there are subcategories: Job Changes, Birthdays, Work Anniversaries, and Education. If you're looking for a reason to reconnect with someone, this is the place to check.

Everything you need is still on LinkedIn; it's just in a new place. Relationships are a cornerstone of LinkedIn, so check your Network icon under Catch Up daily to stay updated with what's happening in your network.

By keeping up with these updates, you can more effectively maintain and strengthen your professional relationships. Happy networking!

Any updates on this? When I go to the Catch Up section, it's been saying "No recent updates" for days.

Interesting ? Carol Kaemmerer. It takes a little more digging to discover this. I've started checking under My Network to see what might pop up. BTW I'm more than a bit skittish about birthdays, even with out a year. I fear it's one more bit of data that bad actors could use to steal your identity.
