Where Did All The Customers Go?

Where Did All The Customers Go?

Remember the good ol' days folks? You know, when the showroom traffic was flowing like Niagara Falls. A lot of you newer sales people have only heard stories of such things. When us old timers start talking about floor room traffic "Customers as far as the eye can see!" you younger sales folks pull up your chairs and have a distant glint in your eyes while you wonder "Did such things ever exist?". I am here to tell you that yes it did!

At one time, a customer visited on average 8 dealerships while purchasing a vehicle. They would come in for hours to get information from us and leave with these things called "brochures" (Those were book like magazines that had tons of information and pictures about the vehicles for you young one's.) Slowly though we veterans started to notice something. There were less and less people coming in to ask us questions. Then we noticed something even scarier, customers that were coming in knew MORE than us! Oh what a scary time that was.

Now the average customer visits 1.6 dealerships while shopping for a vehicle and usually comes in only when they are ready to purchase. No longer do they need us for their information as they can find that all on this evil thing called The World Wide Web! Oh what you have done to this business Internet! Whoa is us, the poor dealers who refuse to adapt to you. Eventually you will go away and things will go back to normal....RIGHT?

Folks, the internet is NOT going away! In fact it is only getting bigger and stronger. Customers are spending more and more time online and less time at dealerships yet dealerships are not changing how they interact with customers. In a 2016 survey by Cox Automotive of recent automotive purchasers they said that over 56% of buyers first contact with a salesperson was at the dealership when they walked in. Less than 1% had contact with a salesperson through social media. WHY ARE WE NOT MEETING CUSTOMERS WHERE THEY ARE SHOPPING? Why are we a "reactive" business instead of a "proactive" one?

I am guessing the answer is because we don't know how to be pro-active with our customers. It's ok, I have a solution! Tier 4 Marketing puts your salespeople where the customers are, online! Through Facebook ads, pages and their own website I can place your salespeople with the customers. Now I am not going to lie, it does take some work on the part of your staff. But with my training and techniques I can quickly get them on their way to engaging customers where customers want to be engaged. No longer do your salespeople have to stand around "waiting for that up". They can instead be working and talking to customers all day long.

The good ol' days will never return but that doesn't mean tomorrow can't be even better!

Message me now for more information on Tier 4 Marketing. Don't wait because if you do, you're just costing yourself and your salespeople money!
