Where can I find additional new Application signatures for uCMDB
So I was able to find some new signatures.
Really backwards way that I had to do it but it worked.
1. Installed DDMi 9.30 from an old ISO we had lying around. This includes the SAI editor which is required to fiddle with the SAI signatures.
2. After making sure SAI editor worked I set out to find the latest SAI files. These are not available anywhere to download directly.
In our case we are running UCMDB 10.01 and I searched for *.zsai and found a new Master.zsai file and a Unix.zsai file.
They were located under:
D:\HP\UCMDB\UCMDBServer\integrations\runtime\probeManager\discoverySaiResources\
These appear to be updated by each CP.
3. I copied the zsai files and opened them with the SAI editor on my machine that I installed DDMi on.
4. I exported each to XML. (The files were over 500MB in total. Don't worry about the size)
5. I zipped the XML and uploaded them to the primary core.
6. On the core. I unzipped the XML, then as per the SA 9.10 Software Management User Guide did the following for each XML.
/opt/opsware/smtool/dstool --username=detuser --password=detuserpassword /path/to/XML
7. The import will take a while. In my case about 30 minutes. At the end a new package is created with the new signatures. In our case, the 500MB xml files resulted in a 1.5M signature package.
8. After running snapshots, the new signatures are used during discovery and all software is discovered properly.
I wish I could be more detailed, but I think HP really should document this part of SA better. SW discovery is a great but under supported module.

8 年The uCMDB SAI are published on HP Enterprise Live Network at this URL: https://hpln.hpe.com/contentoffering/inventory-discovery-knowledge-pack The SAI are published once a month and you will want to download the version that corresponds to your uCMDB content pack version. Read the release notes carefully because in some cases you must install the full SAI package before the delta files in the Inventory Discovery Knowledge pack will work. The delta files will not work with the SAI editor or with the other Inventory Tools. I have been downloading the Discovery Knowledge Packs for DDMI on HP Enterprise Live Network at this URL: https://hpln.hpe.com/contentoffering/discovery-knowledge-packs-ddmi-1 The DDMI files work great for updating the Inventory Tools that are packaged with uCMDB.
