Where Are All The Stars?

Wednesday's Variety Hollywood & Anti-Semitism summit was an eye-opening experience. The room was filled with passion as Hollywood's biggest names discussed the alarming rise of anti-Semitism and the entertainment industry's deafening silence.

Julianna Margulies gave a powerful call to action, asking why every person in the industry isn't taking a stand against this dangerous hatred. As she put it, "I've been trying to get past feeling so disheartened by it...and understand why every single person in our industry isn't standing up...It is shocking."

Showrunner Joel Fields also highlighted the Writers Guild Of America's failure to release a statement condemning Hamas' attacks on Israel. He stressed that staying silent in the face of such violence enables it to spread.

The summit drove home a vital question: How can people stay quiet while children, women, and the elderly are brutally murdered? This is a matter of basic human decency.

Of course, Hollywood is no stranger to speaking out passionately on issues. But when Israel sends an SOS, the silence from Tinseltown is deafening.

Now is the time for celebrities and industry leaders to use their platforms for good. Call out misleading media narratives. Educate your communities about Israel's reality. Remind people that Judaism celebrates life and condemns violence against civilians.

Jews have endured unspeakable atrocities. But we must band together and let our voices be heard before history repeats itself.

The summit lit a fire under attendees to speak out and act. With more voices united against hate, we can work towards a world of understanding and peace.

But it starts with each of us taking a stand.
