So I changed the topic of this #SaturdayServing article at the very last minute because I'd just come off a Zoom call with the incredible Steven Bartlett, and it was an encounter that changed not just me, but the 99 other people who clicked within a second of him dropping the Zoom link to the call, and were fortunate enough to get on...
So having listened, and spoken to him (yes... don't be jealous!! He answered one of my 1001 questions for him), I thought I'd share a very quick thought on the incredible conversations I just had and listened to, about where it all begins for sustainably successful entrepreneurs, and a reminder to invest in what's truly important and will make the most impact.
The Start Point
See, he is definitely someone who would know a bit about building a successful business, and as well as what makes that success sustainable and worthwhile for hime.
And in answering so many questions there was such a common theme that came through in his answers, which included...
"You'll need to do what's best for you"
"You're the best person to answer that question"
"It comes back down to what you want, and what you believe"
These were the phrases that came up in so many of his responses... and he was right. Steven has been incredibly successful in his own life - which is why he's also not qualified to answer questions for you in yours (and he didn't, not even once)
But it led me to see reconfirmation that I've know for a while as being probably the most fundamental ingredient for success in an ANY area of our lives...
SELF AWARENESS...and why we must invest in this more if we are to have the success that we seek.
An Essential Foundation
In my recent Masterclass on 'The Art and Science and Knowing and Showing your Worth' I took class goers on a journey to discover the power of self worth and it's value in all areas...
I was able to outline just how foundational self-worth was to success in each area of life and indeed in listing some of the remedies it brings - it supports everything from the ability to charge effectively for your services (you can't charge what you're worth - another discussion for another time), set healthy boundaries for clients and partner relationships as well as focus in on the transformation that you have to offer and the impact that you wish to have.
And it's so true that with the shaping of your results comes from your actions, behaviours and habits - which are based on your thoughts, impacted on by your beliefs, and are shaped by your world view - but it is your self worth that sits at the bottom of that stack...
But how can you value truly what you don't know or understand?
After all
To know you, is to love you
Which is where the value and importance of self awareness really outlines it's power.
And why it's the difference that makes the difference when it comes to sustainable success...
Key Advantages
There is literally no downside to increased self awareness. It gives you such a distinct edge when it comes to emotional management, and the effective deployment of your time and resources in your business.
It gives you a powerful sense of inventory about what you do and don't have in terms of strengths and weaknesses for your business and relationships - and so enables you to bring in help in the areas that you need help in quickly and effectively.
It helps you communicate better
It helps you see things more clearly
It helps you supercharge your legacy, and so it was amazing to hear Steven speak about one of the key sources of his own awareness journey, which maps so powerfully to my own understanding of it.
Developing your Self Awareness Muscle
Steven described the requirement of content production through daily documentation of this thoughts and experiences as one of the most powerful tools which really supported the building up of his own self awareness muscle, because he had to spend time questioning his questions and analysing his thoughts and behaviour.
It's a practice that I've also engaged in now for several years, and through journaling on self-awareness specific questions daily, I've been able to improve my own level of wisdom and knowledge of myself, my thoughts and beliefs...
In understanding more about why I do what I do, think what I think, I've been able to choose as to whether I wish to continue in them and whether they serve me.
It has been by far the most empowering and useful practice that I've developed and has truly aided my learning and confidence in remarkable ways. So it's a practice and a support mechanism that I'm so proud to be able to share and support other women with too.
Self awareness sits at the foundation of any success you will have in your life and the investments that give you more and more of that are always well spent in my opinion.
Should you want to find out more about how you can begin to invest in some self-reflection coaching and support for yourself, or to boost your business performance, please give me a shout! It's a totally different way of supporting your journey to success - but is so powerful and effective, because it upgrades your knowledge of the most important person in your world, and the person likely to support or hinder you most on your journey... you!

3 年It was a great weekend hosted by Steven Bartlett - amazing guy who isn’t dropping millionaire insights.....he’s just sharing what he always knew - be aware of your self. Be aware of your thoughts because they manifest into your behaviours and your response to the world. I’m sure he’ll also cover at some stage the scourge that is comparison. This puts us in a place of deficit.....I’m not as good as you! We must remember we all have an abundance of power and wealth inside of ourselves- if only we are self aware enough to see it. It was thrilling to see him give away an internship to Jazmine - that’s what true wealth is. When you raise people up and believe in them.
