#WhenYouFeelLikeQuitting

On a longer run today, I was listening to this speech which I thought worthwhile to share and for all of us to reflect on. It links back to the 'lion attitude' shared a week back. Here it goes:
"When you feel like quitting, remember all of those who said you'd fail. When you feel like giving up, remember why you started. When you feel like quitting, remember what you are doing it all for. When you feel like quitting, remember pain is temporary and greatness lasts forever. When you feel like quitting, remember that the pain you feel today will be replaced with the strength you need tomorrow. Remember that every ounce of pain you feel is building a stronger you, a stronger body, a stronger mind, and a stronger character. So push through the pain. Don't let it stop you. Force it to grow you. Don't back down from the pain. Face it, feel no pain, there is no pain. Too tired, too hard, too busy, too early? No excuses! When I feel like quitting, I remember I have too much to fight for, I will not quit! Your greatest results, your greatest health, your greatest strength, it doesn't come with average effort. If you want average results, keep giving average effort. Make an oath to yourself that you will not walk out of any session, any meeting, any encounter without giving 110 per cent of yourself, without being 110 per cent of yourself. Whatever you think is the limit, push past it. It all comes down to a simple question: How bad to you want it? Stick it out and get to where you belong to be."

3 年Hi Misha; I loved your clases at the PMBA. Great clarity and very useful concepts. About that speech I do understand but it has very strong and clear “it depends”. This is when dealing with mental health; unfortunately many people still do not acknowledge this and push people that looks ok to reach things or do things that in that moment they simply can’t; this create even more mental problems with very risky consequences; sometimes quiting for a moment is the only option.

3 年Thanks for connecting us and then sharing this gem. Earlier today my wife reminded me that in 2017 I had a stroke at ORD headed home from a trip. Despite 2 flights and 16 hours, I fought.if that was my day to die, it was going to be on my terms with my wife and kids at my side. Never quit. Give your 110. Thanks for the add and the share.
