When’s the Last Time You Cheated Your Salespeople?

When’s the Last Time You Cheated Your Salespeople?

Did I offend you??

If you have never cheated your salespeople then you have my sincere apologies and this post is not for you.

However, if you have ever:

  • Found yourself looking for loopholes to avoid paying a big commission on the big deal one of your people brought in;
  • Negotiated a commission downward when the comp plan clearly called for payment in full;
  • Thought to yourself, “those salespeople are making too much damn money” when it was you that created the comp plan and they accomplished the goals;
  • Split a territory because the salesperson was having “too much success” and added insult to injury by asking them to train the new rep taking over half their business;
  • Changed the comp plan mid-stream with no other motivation than to reduce commissions now that the salesperson was crushing their goals;
  • Fires a salesperson to avoid paying a commission;
  • Denigrated and disrespected your salespeople to maintain an emotional advantage in a win-lose relationship…

Then, this post is for you.

There are much better ways to build a powerful, thriving, healthy sales organization. If you want to find out more, reach out. You can always say you’re responding to a different post.
