When You’re Doing Something Radical, You’re Either Loved or Hated

"I almost died! and I can't be the only one that's ever been affected. I'm guessing this happens far too often. There are lives at stake!? That's why things need to change, and fast."

I could tell that my client was passionate about the topic. I would feel the same way. He made a groundbreaking discovery in the staffing and scheduling formula that nursing departments have been using for 40 years, both in the UK and here.?

The turning point came when he became a patient at the hospital where he worked. Unfortunately, he experienced firsthand the inadequate care that nearly cost him his life. This experience motivated him to act and view healthcare from the patient's perspective.

When I first started working with him, he faced closed doors and a lack of recognition. However, through our collaboration, he has gained traction and built a strong following. Recently, he attended conferences where he encountered enthusiastic fans.?

However, he has also encountered a resistant group of individuals who cling to the mindset of "this is how we've always done it."

The medical field is chock full of "the old ways of doing things''. He has some mortal enemies that wish to keep things status quo. What do they have to gain by doing so? Don't we have an obligation to save lives...even if it means doing something differently??

The outcome remains uncertain at this point. However, my client is gaining momentum, opening doors, and attracting a following. He is standing firm in his conviction to improve the current system and create better patient outcomes. Only time will tell how this clash of ideas and personalities will ultimately play out.
