When you're asked to choose between your family & your career...

“How will my son get to school?” The answer: “Um, yeah, figure it out”. *Click*. That was the last conversation I had with my last “boss” in Corporate America.

I was hired to represent an asphalt based product in 3 states: NJ, Eastern PA, DE. My one single concern the during the interview - will I be able to take my son to daycare in the morning?

My wife's schedule is such that she leaves the house before my sons school opens. That leaves me to get him to school.

During the interview the Corporation and I agreed to 1 - 2 overnights/month, tops.

9 months later I got the call. My territory changed. MD, DC, VA, WV. Minimum 50% overnight travel.

I mean...is this not the verbiage of not giving F@&%?

My “boss” wanted the paperwork signed immediately to acknowledge my new role.

That is when I asked the question: "How will my son get to school?"

He didn't care, muttered that I should figure it out. Then *click*.

In that moment it hit me - it’s up to me to control my fate. My future. My time with my family. I had to make a decision.

So I left.

After that I realized there were only two possibilities to avoid such a situation again:

1) Start my own business

2) Join a small or medium sized company

I chose option 1. (note: option 2 is also an excellent choice!) I decided to create my own life. My own business.

That is why I am here today. To help other folks in their business better manage their data and information. To help them make better decisions and increase the value they bring to their customers.

I do this by helping folks understand how unlock the powerful tool known as Excel.

I want to help other people succeed in their businesses by sharing the talent I have learned over the years.

So I can be a part of their dreams and successes. And we can all grow together. And of course, spend more time with these beautiful people...
