This week in the Leveraged Lunch Hour (our daily dose of inspiration meets leadership training) we are talking about the 4 barriers to influence and persuasion.?
Yesterday’s video surprised a lot of people.
Imagine you present your new project or initiative to one of your team members. They’re enthusiastic, on board and you know they are the right person for the job.?
You create agreements on execution and timelines, they walk out, and the deadline passes. You notice they haven’t followed through.?
This is a frustrating situation as a leader. The emotional part of you feels frustrated, maybe even angry or betrayed.?Some leaders feel?disrespected.?
Others wonder if the team member was faking their excitement (lying) and didn’t really have any intention of following through.?
You review the conversation and acknowledge that the instructions were clear, agreements were clear, expectations were known and timelines were defined.?
On top of it, this is one of your most reliable team members.?
The answer to why this happens will likely surprise you.?
And we go into depth on what is actually going on here in yesterday’s Leveraged Lunch hour.?Watch it here.
With love,
Mari Carmen
