"When Your Body Whispers, Listen: A Health Coach's Lesson in Trusting Intuition (And Why Successful Women Should Too)"

As you might have seen from my gratitude post comments yesterday, I visited and had a wonderful time in the beautiful Rendlesham Forest on Sunday. On the way back home from Rendlesham on Sunday afternoon, I also decided to stop in a do a little bit of walking by the river in the nearby picturesque town of Woodbridge and then pick up a couple of food items from a large Coop store there.

For those of you who are not familiar with Woodbridge, I just wanted to clarify that the river walk and the location of the Coop store are separated by a railway line. And the railway line can either be crossed via a designated level crossing with barriers coming down when a train approaches, or alternatively via an old wooden bridge over the line itself, with 2 sets of very steep stairs leading up to the crossing and then down to the ground level again on the other side.

As I was passing the bridge with my walking companion, I instantly decided not to use it on this occasion because of an old knee injury which can sometimes play me up again when walking up and down a lot of stairs, so we headed for the level crossing instead.

But the very moment we got to the crossing, the barrier came down and the alarm started going off, which was quite peculiar given that particular railway line normally only has a train passing through every 2 hours. We waited in front of the barrier for a couple of minutes, but the train was still nowhere to be seen, so we decided to head back to the bridge to ensure we got to the store before it closed for the day.

My companion asked me if I would be okay to walk over the bridge and I confidently replied that as long as I was careful, I would be fine. Sadly, I turned out to be wrong, as didn’t anticipate that the old wooden steps would be still very slippery after the frost and a bit of snow that we had here for the last few days. So on my way down I slipped on the edge of one of the steps and ended up with a wrenched arm, a sprained ankle and a rotated hip - which caused me a a fair bit of sciatic pain afterwards. Luckily though, I was holding onto the rail very tightly on my descent, or else the injuries would have been a lot worse no doubt.

Which brings me on to the second point, about the importance of having the right toolkit for repairing any damage we inflict to ourselves – whether accidentally or on purpose – and the fact that I am fortunate enough to have enough knowledge and practical resources to carry out the initial “repair” intervention swiftly and often without having to rely on external resources too.

In this case, the resources in question included my wonderful infrared and PEMF pulsed light and frequency equipment, a session with a terahertz wand and some natural anti-inflammatory supplements and oils I used. And even though I was in quite a lot of discomfort on Sunday evening, after treating myself with all of those things both on Sunday and yesterday, the pain is now significantly reduced, and the ankle is no longer swollen either today.

As for my rash decision to use the stairs as opposed to the level crossing as I initially decided, I believe my “accident” might have been a bit of a poignant and to the point lesson from the universe. A lesson about the importance of following my intuition and about having the patience to follow whatever process I am already in - rather than jumping ship because of perceived benefits of being able to get my desired end result faster. Which is something that many of us can be guilty of at times – whether in our work, relationships with others, or even health and self-improvement related matters.

As I am running A Month of Gratitude Challenge in my private Facebook group currently, I am using the lessons learnt from this incident, my knowledge and resources, as well as my intuition as something to give thanks and be grateful for today.

Because some of our greatest lessons in life will unfortunately involve a degree of pain. But if we can learn from that pain and draw conclusions that will help us act in a more positive and constructive way in the future, then the lesson in question has been successful. And we can move upwards in our life and health mastery after completing it.
