When are you at your strongest?

In Greek mythology, there was an island off the coast of Greece, where beautiful sirens lived. But these sirens had an ominous side to them. When sailors passed by this island, they would be lured by the sirens’ enchanting songs to divert their travels. But once the sailors ventured close enough, the sirens transformed as monsters, dragged the sailors into the water and to their death.

But then there was Odysseus, he was keen to travel past this island but hearing tales of loss sailors and being forewarned by the witch Circe of the sirens’ deathly tricks, he knew he needed to come up with a plan. Odysseus asked himself, "When am I at my strongest to plan for this event?" He thought, "I want to cross this water but still hear the song. So, I'm going to have my men tie me to the mast of the ship so I can't alter my course." He then made his sailors pack their ears with beeswax so that they couldn't hear the sirens' calls, and off they sailed successfully, steering past the island.
