When are you ready to set up a dental business?
I collected millions the first year I started my first dental business in Forth Worth. I had the skills and speed to produce from all aspects of general dentistry yet, it was a constant struggle. Why??Look for my explanations and additional dental business content in my upcoming posts.?
When is a GP ready to open up his/her own business??
1. You already have the skills and speed to produce from all GP procedures. However, this is only 20% of what it takes to achieve and maintain a successful dental business.?

2. You understand that you need a competent supporting team and know how to set it up. This makes up 30% of a successful dental business. Why is your team more important than you, the owner-provider? As the business owner, you naturally care much more from the start. However, the key to your success is getting your employees to care. This will play a major factor in determining whether or not your practice will thrive and grow or constantly struggle.
3. You and your team understand the importance of creating the right customer experience. It doesn’t matter how much you can produce, how competent your team is with their professional skills, without customers there will be no business. This is 40% of creating a successful dental business.
4. You know how to find a good location, coordinate the physical buildout of the dental structure, and set up the front office. This part will be on autopilot once it’s set up and it does not involve people. This is only 10% of what it takes to create a successful dental business. Ironically, factor #4 is all that most dentists think of when setting up a new practice and so they focus on this 10% as if it is 100% thereby largely omiting the other 90%.?
