When you are ignored...

When you are ignored...

Do you want to know the hardest thing about the work I do?

It’s not the sadness that people come to me suffering with, it’s not the complexity of unpicking a lifetime of habitual self-destructive behaviour… No, the hardest thing is when a client ignores an obvious solution to their troubles and remains stuck.

I can’t help but take this personally – I feel it in my gut, as a failure. For some reason, with some clients, I cannot find the ‘key’ that will unlock them, release them from the self-imposed prisons. I want to say to them “it's easy! just do this…” but of course, the job of teaching, of coaching, of leading, is not a job of telling.

People have to see the solution for themselves – and as much as I show them the solutions, if they themselves do not see them, well… it isn’t a solution for them, is it?

Do you want to know the best thing about the work I do?

It is the laying down of a new path built in cooperation with my client, walking them towards their goal. Sometimes that path is a straight and direct one – they see it immediately and find an appetite to walk it. Sometimes that path is a long and winding, sometimes spiralling one upon which I must work hard to persuade my client that the journey is a worthwhile one.

As a teacher – a position I officially held, and a head-teacher (Principal ) at that, for over half of my working life – the best fun I had was with the recalcitrant pupils. The children who were convinced they did not, could not understand a particular subject and who actively tried to prove it. It was fun for me, because I had to bring all of my skill and experience into play in order to find the particular angle, the particular way of describing, the particular explanation that would finally unlock their understanding. That work, on my part, was always worth the effort. Even though it often involved weeks upon weeks of difficult persuasion and a lot of being ignored! That moment, when the penny drops, the light of understanding goes on, that is what a teacher lives for.

That is what I still live for to this day. So yes, being occasionally ignored is hard on me. But at the end of the day, it is not about me. It is about you.

Do you want to be heard?

If you’d like to achieve greater success in your life, if you are ready to become a PROFITABLE ENLIGHTENED LEADER then it is time to take action.

Action always starts with the first step. success lies in the momentum you create and sustain

You absolutely deserve to succeed!

When I started meditating around three years ago I started having more ??moments GINA. Truths are revealed when we decide to stop talking and listen to our higher power/God/the universe. Once we hear the message the next decision is to overcome our fears and drink from the trough we’ve been led to...sometimes we need a coach like you to lead us, but we must overcome that fear and drink the water. The overcoming happens between us and God. This is what I learned as a medical massage practitioner leading my clients to the water. ??

Lots of lightbulb moments - first in late 20's when my doc told me I would not reach 30 if I continued working like I was. Second was to trust my intuition completely and stand up for myself.

Very well written, GINA GARDINER. I think it's difficult to receive the solutions to change our ways unless we're wanting, willing and able to commit to changing our ways.

Lots of lightbulb moments this year! In a year which has been so restrictive it's also opened up peoples vision of the reality of what they get up to with their lives. For many it's been a year of self discovery. For anybody reading this 100% take the time to read Gina's book. Lots of great points, and loads to learn! I've had my copy for a while and read it more than once!

Hi Gina Gardiner thanks for asking. It was when I did my Level 7 coaching qualification and I realised that each person has already got the answer within them I just need to provide a safe and sometimes probing environment for them to discover it !
