How our negativity bias impacts workplace culture

Our negativity bias means we pay more attention to, learn from, and make decisions based upon negative events more than positive ones.

How does this translate to our workplaces?

Even if there are good things happening at work, people are going to notice negative ones more. There might have been three good things that happened last week, but the single bad one will be what people focus on. If there’s a big difference between the number of positive and negative experiences people are dealing with, their engagement is going to suffer.
