When You Feel Like Stopping, Read This.

Advice From A Lifetime “Quitter”

“Change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.’ ~Tony Robbins

Why did you start whatever it was you decided to stop doing now?

Were you miserable so you decided enough was enough?

Tired of your circumstances and needed a change?

Work not fulfilling?

Feeling out of shape and lethargic?

Had enough of being broke?

So you “decided” that’s it. You’ve had enough of scraping by and being mediocre.

You’re finally doing something about it.

Until you decided it was too tough.

Too many obstacles.

Too many voices, both inside and outside your head, telling you it wasn’t “practical”.

Nothing but a pipe dream….not “realistic”.

You just…stopped.

So you settled back to the comfort zone.

Even if that comfort zone was what you wanted to at one time run away from.

But the comfort zone kept calling, your ego “protecting you” from experiencing pain and failure.

Then you said these dreaded words to yourself:

“It is what it is”.

You thought it just wasn’t in the cards this time, this is just the way it has to be.

But, and hear me out on this…

What if you used that doubt for fuel instead of a reason to fall back into bad habits or world you tried to escape from?

What if the next time that voice tells you to: “Move aside, it’s too difficult”, you instead stand your ground strong and say:

“No, you move”.

What is there to lose, really?

Even if you fail and get laughed at, you did something those naysayers only talk about doing.

In your “failure” you gained experience on how not to do it, so now try again from a different angle and perspective…and attack it with the same vigor; JUST NOW YOU ARE A LITTLE MORE EXPERIENCED.

This is what I thought about as I drove to the gym this morning at 4am.

When the voice at 3:15 told me to skip today and go back to bed.

No.

I’ve slept too long and wasted too much time.

I have work to do.

I wish I knew then what I know now.

When I looked at the road ahead as too long and too treacherous and instead took the easy way out.

Where I followed the path of least resistance while someone offered me an hourly salary to forget my dreams ever existed.

I crawled back into the comfort zone I hated, and blamed everyone and everything but myself for my situation.

Now when I tell someone my plan and what I’m doing to work towards it, and I hear: “Man, you’re nuts…EFF THAT!”…instead of doubt I smile and know I’m on the right track.

I keep moving.

“If I knew then what I know now” shouldn’t matter.

Because I’ve now started…and no small step forward will ever be wasted.

It’s never too late to do the thing or be the person you wanted to be.

Ask yourself who you want to be and why you’re not there.

“Every transformation begins by first telling yourself the truth.” -Gary John Bishop

Be honest with yourself.

Just start.

Then tell those negative voices to move.

You have work to do.

For the past two weeks, I've been wrestling with a mental tug-of-war. On one side, my logical mind insists it's not worth it—too late, too much effort. Yet, my heart and soul urge me not to surrender, telling me that this path will bring joy and fulfillment. They remind me that I am meant to touch lives, to bring healing and inspiration. They beg that I don't give up on the life I am dreaming of. In reality, if dreams were easy, they wouldn't be so magical. If ambition was limitless, there would be no drive to succeed. So I will keep moving forward, at whatever pace life tells me. I will battle my logical side with my dreamer side and I will build a life that lights me up somehow along the way. Thanks for sharing Keith! Just the message I needed! ??

This year has been super slow for me, but I think this is actually a good thing Keith... At least, I hope it is. A slow start means forward momentum, unaffected by the waning exhaustion typical with new year's resos.
