When you can see a smell.
Camila Tomas
Vice President of Innovation & Technology @Puig | Driving Innovation in Beauty Tech & New Business Models. Perfume innovation.
One of the biggest challenges in perfumery (beyond the lack of vocabulary to describe scents) was the fact scents were never visualized. It remained abstract, ambiguous and a domain of a few experts (perfumers and evaluators). Kind of like Latin in the Middle Ages.
But what if. ...you could visualize the way perfumes smell in a simple and universal manner? What happens in your brain when you smell a perfume and at the same time "visualize" the way it smells? Can you actually decode the individual olfactory notes like you would hear the different instruments in an orchestra?
WikiParfum will not change the current crisis. But it may make the confinement more fun for perfume lovers. Enjoy the prototype.
