When would we need a phone with 4K screen???

Maybe never...

Below article is from 3 years back but well written that I want to recommend industry folks to comment on. Sony had launched 4K phone already then but neither Samsung nor Apple has current 4K screen phone, yet.

If you are reading this on your mobile phone I recommend you to check your phone's resolution and see if you need extra pixel density for better experience and I know the answer already. You can find detail rationale behind my claim - that we wouldn't need 4K screen considering its screen size and that is backed by Steve Jobs 300ppi study.

Then why phone makers are keep on launching 4K enabled phones while they don't display on its own screen? Well, displaying 4K on its screen and filming with 4K resolution is totally another dimension. Even if we don't watch video on the phone, it would be useful for us to film 4K using phone camera.
