When will we get back to normal?
The Park’s Disaster Response Curve Predictions

When will we get back to normal?

Because we will most certainly pull through as a society from #Covid-19 one way or another, there is some relief found in considering what comes next.

Right now, we are all consumed with dealing with our Physiological and Safety needs – Maslow 101.

But how soon can we expect things to go back to as close to normal or at least a create a new normal we can tolerate?

There is a model that predicts our next moves: The Park’s Disaster Response Curve.

In 1991, Park came up with a curve that is used by Disaster Response teams. Having had the opportunity work with FEMA’s CERT (Community Emergency Response Teams) we have seen this curve in real-world action and so have you.

Observe society from a rational eye. We see the people of our society moving through this curve. Within a few weeks, we (as a society) will be looking for strategies to prevent such vulnerability to future similar disasters.

This is where (People) Change Management can help within business transformation strategies and social change. This is when digital transformation and #RPA (Robotic Process Automation) gets a boost. This is when we say - how do we handle this when it comes around next?

The best of human innovation comes out during these sorts of "burning platforms" that demand change.

Now is the time to pull in your (people) change managers and get help to devise changes to reduce vulnerability and help restore normality as soon a possible. This is their specialty - #people and their #response to #change. Give them a seat at the table.
