When in Valencia...

Distributed leaders do as distributed leaders say, aka my own motto these weeks as I am soaking the Valencian sun, tending to professional endeavours with theCoRD.?

Valencia has 300-plus days of sunshine per year, and an atmosphere that supports a healthy lifestyle and work-life balance, so when the occasion?came up, I jumped on the plane and here I am here,?today,?writing to you from a vibrant city.?

Lucky me, but Valencia seems to have it all as a benefic work environment. It has actually been named by remote workers in a 10,000 participants study as the best city to live and work in. And they've got all the reasons right: historical center, affordability, great?infrastructures for sports and mobility, friendly climate with long beaches and public parks and a diverse?socio-cultural offer for remote workers in particular.

I was really blown away to find out that, even though living in between history and future, Valencia has?+1000?startups and lots of co-working spaces. Major companies like Google, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM have offices here, and the local government actively supports innovation and entrepreneurship.

Basically, quality of life and opportunities for professional development are attracting tech talent to the city. Valencia is home of?VDS, one of Southern Europe's most prominent international tech events and a platform transforming Valencia into a global tech hub. Organised by Startup Valencia, VDS annually gathers the world's top startups along with the most influential corporates and investors at the unparalleled venue of the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia.

Quoting Thenextweb.com, "Valencia is becoming a wellbeing tech hub, in more ways than one.?London has fintech, Berlin has software and AI, but what sets Valencia apart is?the?focus around health, individual and planetary.?Food tech, health tech, sports tech, but also water and energy. A lot of companies are coming together to develop a super ecosystem where we can work and live in a world of balance.”?
