WHEN TITHING WILL MAKE YOU POOR!

WHEN TITHING WILL MAKE YOU POOR!

WHEN TITHING WILL MAKE YOU POOR! This is one of those truths that you will have to read all the way through before you pass judgment. I will make a number of statements in this article that will cause some people to jump to the wrong conclusion. First, you might ask: Pastor Mike do you pay Tith? My first response would be NO! But not NO in the way that most would interpret. When I gave my heart to Jesus Christ February 18, 1975, at 3 PM in the afternoon, as I was in this midst of committing suicide, my whole life radically changed. Literally from that moment up to now I've always considered everything I have as belonging to God. So NO I do not Tith! I have always given more than 10%. My wife can verify that in 40 years of marriage there have been times when we literally gave almost 100%. I strive to hear what God is telling me in how much to give, and we do it. Peoples who mind is focused on 10%, will literally rob themselves of amazing miracle that God wants to do for them because of their little bit of giving. We have a wonderful book we have written about this subject called: God Still Provides: Docs (50) Amazing Stories of Supernatural Provision! It is filled with divine provisions as we have obeyed God through the years. So let's talk about: WHEN TITHING WILL MAKE YOU POOR! Back in 1985, I had a young couple attending our church. The husband and wife had both attended Christ for the Nations. At this time they had three small children. They had also done some missionary work. Now, this brother seemed to have a good job. Plus he was also a consistent tither. Yet they never were able to get ahead. Car breaking down, wash machine quit working, medical bills overwhelming them. They probably had attended our church for a couple years when one day this brother came to see me. He was extremely upset because he was tithing, yet nothing seemed to be working out for him. He told me that he was mad at God. That God promised he would take care of them, yet he wasn't. I let him get all of this frustrations out about how bad God was treating him and his family. Then I told him that I knew the reason why he was not getting the kind of response he wanted from God. I told him he would not like to hear what I had to say. I asked him if he wanted to know? He grudgingly said yes. I told him that it was his attitude. And that he was not giving in faith. He was extremely upset. I told him I can prove it to you by Scripture. 2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: I told him that when you are given by faith, there'll always be wonderful joy and cheerfulness in your heart. I told him if you are giving to get, then you are giving for the wrong reason. I shared with him that my wife and I love to give to the work of God. We never focus on our return. But we always have an abundant harvest. Which gives us even more opportunities to give more. We do not just give financially, but of our time, and our energy. We not only give to the local church, but we are constantly giving to the homeless, the needy, and the hurting. I told him the Scripture that says:1 Peter 1:8 whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: When faith is alive, it produces joy unspeakable and full of glory. I told him if you do not have joy in your giving, it is because you're not given by faith. Of course this went over like a lead balloon. It just created more anger and frustration inside of him. He did not have a revelation that all that he had belonged to God. And that it is a wonderful privilege and opportunity that God has given to us to participate in HIS plan, to give to the work of the kingdom. With All My Heart I Believe that Tithing is just the first step into Gods unlimited possibilities. But it must be by faith. Once you truly believe in your heart: That You Cannot out Give God, it opens the door to marvelous miracles. I have included a link to our book on this subject. We share 50 amazing supernatural provisions that God has provided through the years. These are just a tip of the iceberg of the many blessings HE has provided.. I am sorry to say that this brother was so offended with me that he left our church, never to return. I LOVE to share the truths that I have learned through the years, yet I have discovered that there are many who cannot handle them. May God take us into the deeper realms of true faith and obedience.

Amen to this! It's amazing how God provides when a person gives more than they think they can afford. My husband and I were attending a church in the Midwest. The pastor challenged those in attendence to pray about what we should commit to give for a full year, above and beyond 10%. We came up with a number and faithfully gave that amount each month. Still, to this day, we talk about how we were able to do it. Looking at the numbers, we shouldn't have been able to! But God!!!
