When is it time to ask for help?
Let's face it, we have all read enough about the impact of Covid 19 to last a lifetime. In the beginning, we were "gun hoe" about getting through the pandemic. I watched Tic Tok videos until 3 am, my son and I made funny videos and generated new lyrics to old songs about Covid. But that was March and April. Now it's November and we are in wave 2 or is it 3? Having gone through my own Covid scare, had three Covid tests, and experienced a good friend suffer through this illness, it's difficult. As a psychotherapist, I ask my clients every visit, "how would you rate your mood on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best". Between the election, Covid, and the upcoming holidays, it would be hard to imagine rating one's mood anywhere above a solid 7. This is the time to dig deep. I was thinking this morning, "when the going gets tough, the tough get going". But, along the way, maybe it's time we all ask for some help. Even though talking about the situation won't necessarily change it, it will help us cope better with what is and plan for what will be. If you want someone to talk to, we are here, virtually or in-person. www.riverwalkcounseling.net
