When things just seem to go wrong..
There are certain days where, we just seem to get off on the wrong foot. Our alarm didn't go off, we stubbed our toe scrambling to get ready for work, the list is endless.. Many times we find that, instances such as these set the tone for the rest of the day. Yes, we can hang our heads, give in and accept the day as one messy write-off or we can take a step back, breathe and see the whole picture.
The reality of it is, this was just a fraction of a 24 hour day; an even smaller fraction of a 168 hour week. Even though, sometimes it seems we've been sucker-punched with a concentrated dose of adversity, it's not to say the whole day is ruined. If someone chooses to take a verbal jab at us in the workplace, does it mean we should hate our job? Of course not.
Hardships will come, unexpected detours and insults will too; but, If we keep our focus on the value of our life, those whom we value in our life, and the purpose for which we do all that we do, we can remain mindful and keep things in their proper perspective. Our vision remains clear, our hearts content and we can take on the day not expecting to falter as we take our next step.
Regardless of how the day starts, we can set our intention to be grateful simply because we have the privilege to start. Let not another day tumble into the "best forgotten" list.

8 年So very true, Marché. I always accept those little fails in our everyday life as statistically unavoidable, so just blow them off and keep right on going as if nothing had happened.
