When Tech Drives Positive Change: How talabat Jordan Continues to Use its Platform for Good

At talabat Jordan, we have a steadfast commitment to using tech for good, and we are continuously engaged in activities and initiatives that allow us to use our platform and our capabilities in order to make the world a better, safer, healthier, and happier place.

As part of our ongoing corporate responsibility efforts, the first four months of 2023 were packed with activities designed to support our charity partners and communities in need—with a special focus on eliminating hunger, promoting education, encouraging health and safety awareness, supporting orphans and youth, and encouraging our customers to join us in our charitable endeavors.

Promoting Education & Supporting Youth

At the beginning of the year, we joined forces with our partners at the Elia Nuqul Foundation (ENF) to celebrate International Education Day. We used our talabat Jordan platform to help promote ENF’s “Donation for Education” campaign, encouraging our customers to help fund educational opportunities for students across the Kingdom using our in-app donation mechanism.?

We also continued to build on our partnership with SOS Children's Villages Jordan ????? ??? ??????? ???????? Jordan: during Ramadan, our riders distributed flyers across the Kingdom encouraging people to donate to SOS Children’s Villages—which they can do directly through the talabat app.

Eliminating Hunger & Helping Communities in Needs

At talabat Jordan, one of our core business functions involves satiating hunger—so it is only fitting that we would use our platform in order to eliminate hunger among the communities where it’s most needed. This was never more vital than when the devastating earthquake struck Turkey and Syria back in February. Immediately, we implemented a campaign in collaboration with one of our partners to support the affected communities through in-app donations, raising more than JD6,500.

The fight against hunger is always at the top of our minds during Ramadan, and this year, we carried out a number of initiatives throughout the Holy Month that aimed to eliminate hunger. For starters, our talabat riders took to the streets to distribute flyers for Tkiyet Um Ali , encouraging customers to donate to help feed those in need directly through our app.

We also encouraged our customers to donate to the causes of their choice throughout the Holy Month, sending push notifications and publishing social media posts that directed our customers to our ‘Give Back’ collection on the talabat app, where they can easily find all of our charity partners in one place.

Throughout the Holy Month and Eid Al Fitr, talabat Jordan managed to raise over 15,000 meals and more than JOD40,000 for people in need—an incredible achievement that is a true testament to the generosity of our customers, vendors, partners, riders, and team members.

Encouraging Health & Safety Awareness

Another key pillar of our corporate responsibility strategy is our commitment to raising awareness about important health and safety issues. On World Cancer Day, we joined forces with our longtime partners at the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center (KHCF/KHCC) to host a special stretch and exercise session for our talabat team members, conducted by Hive Gym–underscoring how physical activity and fitness can help reduce the risks of cancer. During Ramadan, our riders also handed out flyers encouraging customers to donate to KHCC through the talabat app.

Ramadan was also an important opportunity for us to encourage safe driving, as part of our commitment to helping create a safer community. In partnership with the Jordan Traffic Institute, throughout the Holy Month, we distributed flyers that highlighted important practices and considerations to adhere to when driving while fasting.?

At talabat Jordan, whenever we give back and support our communities, it only inspires us to continue doing more. And as the year progresses, we already have many more wonderful community responsibility activities in store.
