When the System Fails: Fighting for Justice in a Rigged Game

We are taught that justice prevails, that laws protect the innocent, and that ethical institutions will do the right thing. But what happens when the system itself is designed to silence you?

For three years, I have been in an exhausting battle against workplace discrimination and systemic racism in the Canadian banking industry. At Toronto-Dominion Bank, I endured racial profiling and harassment. When I exposed privacy and security breaches, I was punished instead of heard. I reached out to regulators, filed complaints, and even pursued legal action—but justice never came.

The reality is, when institutions protect themselves over the people they serve, ethics become nothing more than a fa?ade. The system isn’t broken—it is working exactly as intended, to protect those in power.

So where does that leave people like me? Those who refuse to stay silent, even at great personal cost?

Change does not come from the top—it comes from those who demand it. And I will keep demanding it. Will you?
