When Stepping Back spells Progress.

In an unprecedented development , Prince Harry and Meghan Merkle announced their decision to step back from their duties as senior royals - and to make a financially independent living. Like Consultants. Like Accountants. Like Heads of Sales and Marketing :) .Like That.Well Almost!

The prime reason being cited is their obvious discomfort  with the deeply formal, structured nature of life as a royal. Perhaps the thought of freedom from the protocols of royalty alone is sufficient stimulus.

However, its interesting to  realize here that in at least certain circumstances, it may not only be acceptable to move away from a leadership role-It can be the right thing to do.

The math is simple. If you believe that your highest obligation is to the organization(read institution) where you currently have a leadership role, the right thing to do is to stay put. If, however, you believe that is important to honor your institution but that your strongest duty is being true to your own moral compass, its time to move on...
