When Social Media Isn't Working For You...

Want to know one of the common pain points I hear a lot from coaches looking for new clients?…….?? “Social media isn’t working”.
Now my initial reaction is ‘oh no…. you mean Instagram’s broken?’…. But what people actually mean, is they’re not getting the engagement.
So here are some reasons social media might not be working for you:
???? You’re only ‘pushing out’ your content and not ‘pulling in’.
If you ‘push out’ or broadcast, (there’s nothing wrong with it, but I’d ask yourself how often you’re doing it?) it’s because you’ve got something to say or share, which can also be referred to as ‘telling’.
If you ‘pull in’, which I’d recommend doing 70-80% of the time, you’re inviting engagement.
So, my advice is to tag a question onto the end of your posts, asking for feedback or advice from your audience.

???? You’re not showing up enough. Consistency is key!
The more you show up, the more your audience will get a feel for what it’s like to be coached by you.
Consistency builds trust.
Trust builds sales.
You need to create that sense of trust and it takes anything from 7-20 touch-points to create enough trust for somebody to invest with you.
And when I say ‘consistent’ I don't mean you have to be there every day, but you can't have big periods of one minute being there and then the next minute, you’ve disappeared.
So carefully select how frequently you want to post, so that you build a sense of reliability.

???? You don’t know your audience…
You’ve become guilty of just trying to get the numbers rather than going for quality over quantity.??
You’ve got to drill your ‘ideal’ customer down to such fine detail, that it becomes super easy to find them in a crowded market.

Your ideal customer cannot be everyone!
Once you understand your ideal customer on a deeper level, you can tailor your sales language and content around their profile.
This doesn't mean that you won't ever attract anybody else, just that your most ideal client, who'll pay you the right money to deliver what you're best at, will be EASIER to attract and convert.?
The difference between people who say that social media doesn’t work and those who are building a community and gaining clients, is that the latter have a process that works…
The key to winning with your social media is in the planning.
So, you’ve got to figure out who your audience are, what they want to see, deliver VALUABLE content on a consistent basis and regularly assess and tweak your plan.?
We’re all guilty of whiling away the hours on our social platforms, with little to show for it at the end! But that’s got to stop if you want to up your game and see results.?
Don’t worry it’s not as daunting as it might sound. You’ve got to break down the key tasks you need to complete each day, map out your ideal audience, draw up a schedule (psst I’ve got a great one available in my Social Selling Academy??) and deliver according to that.?
