When Shastri Ji killed a dog!!

This incident in Shastri Ji’s life highlights the necessity of making timely and quick decisions in real life or business -

Lal Bahadur Shastri was an Indian leader who served as the country’s second prime minister. He played a major role in advocating the White Revolution, a countrywide movement to improve milk production and availability.

But in the last few decades, the death of Lal Bahadur Shashtri has created many controversies. The Raj Narain Inquiry set up for finding the reason behind the death was unable to reach any valid conclusions regarding the death of Shastri Ji, there are no records of the investigation in Parliament’s library, and regardless of the cause of death reports are either missing or destroyed.

Well, that's a separate topic altogether to debate. But here in this blog, I’ll be sharing a story that will make you question your decision-making capacity.

Once Shastri Ji was traveling with all his security personnel and a huge car convoy. While he was busy in some magazines sitting in the back of the car, his car abruptly stopped.

He was disturbed, and asked the driver what had happened?

The driver replied — Sir a dog came under the car and died.

Listening to this Shastri Ji got out of the car and started mourning the death of the dog.

Soon he was surrounded by all his security personnel. He asked each one of them the reason why the dog died and whose mistake it was?

Security Personal 1(SP1): Sir, he died because of the negligence of the local municipality. They should’ve taken care of the stray dogs.

SP2: Sir, the dog died because of its owner. People typically abandon dogs when they don't want to care for them.

SP3: Sir, the dog died because there is no passage for animals to cross the road.

And many such reasons were given by the security personnel.

Shastri Ji had been silent for a few minutes, listening to all the reasons he said:

All the reasons that you’ve put are certainly responsible for putting this poor dog in this situation. But as of now, he died mainly because of only 1 reason.

Security personnel: And what is that sir?

Shashtri Ji:?Inability to make quick decisions. When the dog saw the convoy, he couldn’t decide where to go immediately. Fear had paralyzed him and rendered him dumb. He would still be alive today if he had made a quick decision to run to either side of the road. But he didn’t.

Most people suffer not because of taking wrong decisions, but taking right decisions late.

Why quick decision-making is crucial in Corporate?

For your company to succeed, individuals or leaders must establish a safe and secure atmosphere for customers and employees.

And to do so, executives must be quick decision-makers and grasp the value of decision-making in the company.

In business, decisions must be made several times each day, and there may be many circumstances when things appear to be out of control, but you should be able to quickly assess which alternative is best for your firm. If you don’t, your day’s profitability and the firm as a whole will suffer.

Decision-making in personal life

Even in our personal lives,?our decisions have a direct impact on the quality of our lives and our fate. Nobody’s life is ever perfect. Every day, you make a deliberate decision to determine your priorities.

But the most difficult thing in life is making a clear decision since it encompasses numerous concrete and intangible factors that are often beyond our control.

The fear of the unknown consequence constantly stays in us, acting as a hindrance to making judgments,?leading us to seek outside perspectives?and assistance in making decisions.

And let me remind you if you want to purchase a car right now and you ask 10 people for suggestions. You won’t be able to make a quick decision.

So build your personality, build a perspective, and have confidence in your own decisions. Train your mind, feed it with quality content and you’ll be good to go.
