When the Red Flag Means a Golden Opportunity

When the Red Flag Means a Golden Opportunity

A red flag can be alarming, but it often goes unnoticed.?We sometimes get so focused on the things we are doing each day that when the flag pops up we might miss it. Other times it’s right in front of our face.?

The key is to recognize a red flag and pause to evaluate the meaning. The flag is signaling something.??It’s bringing something to your attention. What is the message? What is the urgency? What does it demand from you??

Red flags are the things we didn’t see that has now bubbled up. Do we fixate ourselves n the red flag???It may not need that level of attention. The red flag often appears as a symptom. Symptoms can he addressed. But symptoms are not the real problem. We must get to the root.?

If our red flag is the effect, then what is the cause? We want to find out what triggered this flag. It could be health, finance, relationships, miscommunications - a myriad of conditions that may be severe or not. Knowing the cause will also lead to a solution.?

The cause of the red flag is where we must focus our attention. We must ask hard questions and assess the answers. Should I stop what I am doing, because continuing will bring harm? Should I change what I am doing? Should I be looking at the situation from a different point of view??

A change is perspective can be the most challenging. We resist looking st something differently because it requires us to abandon the known for an unknown. And this can make people very anxious.?Sometimes the way around this is to resurrect one of the first and most potent tools you learned, probably first if not early in your childhood: imagination. By employing imagination and fantasy you can create scenarios and play them out. Journal the scenarios, then analyze it closely. Could this work? What are the benefits? The risks? The obstacles and opportunities??

Imagination produces the potential reality, and we must test that reality. But in doing this, we may discover a golden opportunity, something that no one else, ourselves included, had thought of. There is a uniqueness to it. And it resonates with us personally because it emanated from within us, not dictated by an outside source or influence. Because the red flag is often out intuition trying to get our attention so that we get it’s message.?
