Lots of Work, Lots of Loss
It's been awhile since I last wrote?-- and for good reason. Not only have we been advocating in Olympia, running social media campaigns and executing all sorts of PR efforts, my father pictured above?passed at the end of January. Unexpectedly.
It's a particular kind of hell to be juggling multiple creative projects with multiple clients,?be named executor of two estates, and have to actively make decisions for a timber farm you inherited... while also trying to grapple with your own grief.?And a word to those who know -- financial institutions make it very hard to consolidate the assets of your loved ones. There is quite a lot of business around death.
I'm happy to say I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with my executor duties, we successfully wrapped a harvest on the timber farm, and Guenther Group's clients were served well. Some of this is due to?Josh Kerns, a former TV and radio reporter I worked with back in the day who has become my partner on many projects.??
A special thanks to?Jesse Jones?and his producer?Anna Rodzinski?at KIRO-TV?who shamed Chase Bank when they wouldn't turn over assets to the estate. There are days when I'm very thankful I used to be an investigative reporter and still have friends in this field.
Better Days Ahead!
Here in the PNW we've emerged from a very cold winter and spring and been blessed with an early summer. Cheers to that!
During the winter and spring we executed a number of projects:
Staying Positive
You see the uncertainty everywhere, we're either in a recession or we aren't. We won't raise the debt limit or we will, but the consequences are dire.
Given the season of loss I've been through, the best thing I think any one person or organization can do is stay positive and focus on work that matters. What comes will come but how we approach life, how we live that life?is really what matters most.
Until next time...
