In my last newsletter, I introduced the concept of project rescue. But how do you know if your project is veering off course? While no two projects are exactly the same, there are telltale signs that signal trouble ahead. Recognising these early warning signs gives you a chance to intervene before things spiral out of control.?
Let’s break these warning signs down into three key categories: people, process, and technology. By keeping a close eye on each of these, project sponsors and teams can act quickly to course correct.?
People Warning Signs?
Projects live and die by the strength of their people. If your team is struggling, the project will too.??
Process Warning Signs?
The structure and governance behind your project are just as important as the people. When processes are weak, the project’s foundation begins to crumble.?

4 周Brilliant contribution to the warning signs, thank you Sandeep One of the reasons why I wrote my book Real Project Leadership is to highlight if the 15 ingredient behaviors & actions are not evident, your project is in trouble - practice them, embrace them and recovery + success is possible. I’m also going to release - fingers crossed before the end of year - an online project health assessment tool.

4 周Excellent breakdown of the key warning signs in project management Jeanette! I've certainly experienced the pain of scope creep and the challenges of managing technical debt. In my experience, another crucial warning sign is a lack of stakeholder engagement. When stakeholders aren't actively involved, it can lead to miscommunication, misunderstandings, and ultimately, project failure. It's also important to consider the impact of external factors, such as economic downturns or regulatory changes, which can significantly impact project timelines and budgets. I'm eager to learn more about your strategies for rescuing struggling projects in your next newsletter!
