When passion turns haters into followers

It’s a weird phenomenon that only happens when:

  • You are right with your ideas.
  • You don’t give up.
  • You bring those ideas to the table politely.
  • You don’t try to make friends with your idea or you.
  • You hold strong in your beliefs.

Despite the common belief of clustering only with your tribe, you certainly can influence "haters" when you lose the fear of conflict, something that as speaker I love;

People are mostly afraid of conflict, any conflict, even if you just defend your opinion. If you truly believe your idea is the winning horse and you have a track record, the psychological weight of it will make you win.

It’s like my fellow Mallorquin, Rafael Nadal, at that level, they are all incredibly good players. What makes the difference? The mindset. Let’s extrapolate my theory in the case of tennis:

Rafa is not afraid of facing adversity, is not afraid of conflict, and he never gives up. Somehow I believe people perceive this strong personality and surrender. That’s why when Rafa is losing, he keeps his mind sharp, behaves like nothing happened, thinks about the end and not the moment. He is in a fight, and nothing is for granted yet.

What usually happens is that the opponent suddenly makes a mistake, and Rafa is ready to "kill." Here is where the hours of training pay off!

How many lost matches has he redirected to a win? So many! That’s why if you are passionate enough, strong enough, and you don’t fear conflict, you eventually win.
