When is One Sale Better than 10?

When is One Sale Better than 10?

That may seem counterintuitive…

How could fewer sales actually be better?

Well, if you’ve been at this for a while then I’m sure you’re already screaming the answer...

But if you’re not quite sure yet here it is:

Fewer sales are better when those sales are a better QUALITY customer...

See, when you’re building a long-term business it’s tempting to do everything you can to get a quick sale.

You might throw your affiliate link in a FB group or even message people relentlessly as I've seen gurus teach.

Two methods I DON’T recommend by the way.

See, that may work… at first.

You may get a sale or two here or there…

You may get a handful of people to sign up.

But I’ve found that doing these quick "cash-grab methods" don’t bring in the best quality customers.

What do I mean?

These type of customers often expect to make a quick buck, but if it doesn’t happen, they split.

They rarely upgrade their package, purchase lifetime access, or invest in the software they need to run their online business.

So what’s the solution?

How do you focus on finding quality customers that are likely to take action, upgrade, purchase software, and provide you with a windfall of consistent commissions?

Here is the solution in one sentence:

“Sell yourself, FIRST.”

I know I’ve been talking about this a lot lately but it’s true.

The way to ensure you’ll get people who are “all in” is letting them know they’re more than just another number, they are real people and will be taken care of by a real person - you.

Here are a few quick ways to do this:

  1. Post value in groups, show some of your results with tips on how to get there. People will naturally begin to DM you and this is a great place to start having conversations
  2. Don’t just email sales copy to your list. Invite them to reach out to you and ask any questions by just hitting “reply.”
  3. Got a small list? Make sure your emails aren’t going to spam and personally email every single one of them directly. Yes, every single one.
  4. Introduce yourself on the Thank-You page after they’ve opted in.
  5. Hop on the phone with someone who’s having questions. During this time a lot of people are comfortable using Zoom calls.
  6. Comment Value: On Instagram Posts, YouTube Videos, Quora Questions, Facebook Groups, Reddit Discussions… People will naturally check out your profile or send you a DM, this is a great way to start conversations.
  7. Create a Facebook Group and direct your subscribers and DMers there before trying to sell them anything. Get to know them and ask THEM questions about their goals.

Ok, I think that’s enough for now and hopefully has given you some fresh ideas.

Focus on selling yourself first, as a mentor and guide, and when people buy, you’ll find they are a more dedicated, lifetime member!
