When Off is On - iOS toggles
With iOS 11, Apple brought to the iPhone a nice looking ‘Control Centre’.
The said purpose was to give the user more control over frequent tasks.
While most of the toggles are an improvement, what does bug me is the behaviour of the Wifi and Bluetooth toggles.
I’m used to a toggle having two distinct states: On and Off. That’s what the word means too. Apple however, felt the need to have a third one. Off but scanning (Not Connected, in layman terms).
While the intent may have been good (read: https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT208086), after almost 6 months of pondering and trying to find some logic to it, for me, this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
I almost always have to go into Settings and then individually into Wifi and Bluetooth to turn them Off.
And given how older iPhones are performing in terms of battery life, having an always-on Wifi and Bluetooth really puzzles me (though battery drain due to them is debatable).
I honestly curse Apple every time I do this, and that’s almost everyday.
How I wish Apple just let things be simple: On as On, Off as Off.

7 年100% agree. There should atleast be an option in settings to turn this in-between stage off permanently.
