When Mentoring Meets Scale

When Mentoring Meets Scale

I started offering one-on-one mentoring sessions a few years ago, helping individuals tackle challenges and grow their skills. While this was deeply fulfilling, I soon realized its limitations. Time and geography meant I could only help so many people. That’s when I turned to online education to scale this impact.

Fast forward to today: the courses I have created on LinkedIn for Learning have reached over?44,000 students, spanning the globe, and have been translated into?13 languages. These courses have become a global classroom where sustainability and AI meet innovation, reaching thousands I may never meet in person.

Making an Impact When You’re Not in the Room

As I often say: How are you making an impact when you are not in the room? Online learning became my answer to this question. It allowed me to share my knowledge with students from diverse careers, companies, and communities, whether or not I’m physically there to guide them.

Sustainability, AI, and 44,000 Students: A Story of Scalable Mentorship

Here are the courses I’ve developed that focus on sustainability and the future of technology:

  1. Including Sustainability in Your Cloud Strategy A discussion on how organizations can integrate sustainability into their cloud approaches, combining innovation with responsibility.
  2. Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability: ESG and the Future of Business This course explores how environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles can align with cutting-edge business strategies using Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability.
  3. Sustainable AI for Developers: Strategies, Techniques, and Best Practices Designed for developers, this course focuses on building AI models that minimize environmental impact while maximizing innovation.
  4. Performing a Sustainability Audit with Microsoft Sustainability Manager A hands-on guide for organizations aiming to assess and improve their sustainability practices using advanced Microsoft tools.

Once these courses were translated into 13 languages, it felt like I was in a global classroom. I received questions from students in languages such as Indonesian and Korean; this is where Google Translate helped me.

I would like to thank Heather Hurley , Charles (Max) Wong , Natalie Pao , and Christen Beck throughout the development and production of these courses.

Let’s continue learning, innovating, and positively impacting together. We all need mentoring at different stages of our life.
