When making a bulleted list, use the numbers 5, 7, or 9 in the title.

Today's Daily Tip: Use the numbers 3, 5, 7, or 9 in the title of a list or article.

?

Take these actions TODAY:

  • Titles with numbers attract more attention than ones with only words.
  • Odd numbers attract more attention than even numbers.
  • Use an odd number that is lower than 11 (it can be 3, 5, 7, or 9).
  • Never use a double digit number in a list. I'm completely overwhelmed by "26 ways to save more for retirement" but I'd read it if it were only "7 ways..."
  • Use numbered titles for blogs, newsletters, social media posts, and in section headers in articles.
  • You can also use dates in your titles to attract more attention. "Savings rates haven't been as low since 1979."

Sara's Upshot

The most important part of anything you write is the headline - the title, subject line, or header. You have to stop the scroll and an attention-getting title is the only way.

After you are done writing, take an extra five minutes before you publish. Jazz up those headlines using fascinating words, phrases, dates, and odd numbers!

Yeah?

Yaaaaah.

BOOM - there you go, today's marketing tip for ya!
