Dear Traveler,

I never check bags.?

That’s not entirely true.?

But it is when I can make it work – which is typical when I am on week long trips.

For Madrid this week I intentionally packed light. Including one new outfit for the Taylor Swift concert tonight.?

When I arrived at Logan I was told there had been an aircraft change, and we were now on a smaller plane that was oversold.?The gate agent said I had to check it.?I protested a bit, knowing the importance of needing it to arrive with me.?No luck.?My Apple Airtag was in it just in case.?

Do you know where this is headed?

I arrived in Madrid.

My bag did not.?

After much waiting and filling out of forms I was in an Uber to the city.?It’s now Wednesday and I’ve been told they can’t find it.?Despite the fact that I can see that my AirTag/luggage is still in BCN airport.?

I’ve enlisted the help of a friend who has a relative that works at Iberia.?We’ll see.?

What I do know is that I will be spending part of my day today shopping for not only a new TSwift eras outfit, but also the other essentials that I need.? The hard part is not knowing when the bag will be returned. When you think of everything you pack in a suitcase - it's a lot! Socks, shoes, sandals, dresses, shorts, pajamas, work out gear, shirts, bathing suit, cover up, flip flops, hairbrush, conditioner, make up.?

As they say in Spanish “que pena!”

Looking on the bright side – Madrid is a shopping mecca and I will be getting lots of new items to bring home with me :)
