When the Lord Told Me Jimmy Swaggart Would Fall to Sexual Sins!

You might ask why don't you share areas in your life where you have missed God? And I would answer: I have! You can purchase that book if you want to know many of the shortcomings I've committed since I have been saved. The name of the book is: I Need God Because I'm Stupid! Are you not slandering Jimmy Swaggart? No, not in the least since this is all information that was blasted over every media in the late 80s and early 90s.

Back to the story. One of the members of the church gave me a book to read from Jimmy Swaggart. I am not sharing this story to demonize Jimmy Swaggart or his ministry. I'm simply stating what took place in 1981 as I was pastoring an Assembly of God Church!.

This book he had written was about faith (this book is no longer available). I was very interested in reading it because I wanted to see what Jimmy had to say on this subject. This was an area in my life where God had placed upon me a great demand. Over and over since 1975 up to that moment, I had to move in faith to be healed, delivered, protected, set free, and for my needs to be met. As I was reading this book my heart was filled with great sorrow. A close friend of Swaggart's had a little girl who had been diagnosed with a terrible disease. Everybody had prayed for her to be healed, but she had died. (PS: We also lost our youngest daughter when she was four years old, but never blamed God!)

Jimmy had not seen his prayers answered for her healing. Based on this experience his whole theology changed. He had been teaching that it was God's will to heal. (I do not know what he teaches now) but because this little girl had died his whole Doctrine of faith had changed. In the process of embracing his own self-made doctrine, built upon this and other experiences, he had come to the conclusion that it was not God's will to heal everybody. Not only was he cutting himself off from the wonderful reality of healing is God's will for everybody, all the time, but he was leading all of those who had followed him all of those years into the same misguided and wrong philosophy.

Now you might ask why would you mention Swaggart by name? I'm not doing anything different than what the apostle Paul did when he called out the apostle Peter for leading other believers astray when he was dealing with the Judaizers in the book of Galatians chapter 2.

I’m sharing this with you not to be critical of Swaggart, but Scripture says that if any man thinks he stands, let him take heed lest he falls. I’m sharing this to help people come into the place where they can experience a continual flow of the Holy Ghost and the miraculous. As I continued to read that book, the Spirit of the Lord spoke to my heart in an almost audible declaration. The word came into my heart not just audibly but I saw the word written in Big Bold Black Letters in my mind. The word I heard and saw was the word PROSTITUTES!

It is frightening when God begins to tell you specific things, especially when it comes to judgment or repercussions of disobedience. I told my wife with a trembling voice what the Spirit of the Lord Had spoken to my heart. I told her he would fall to prostitutes! Now, this experience happened to me in 1981, and I never told another soul but my wife what God had said to me.

I am sorry to say that several years later it came to pass when certain activities that he was involved in came to light. These Sexual scandals with prostitutes in the late 1980s and early 1990s exploded in the media.

Now, what would this have to do with the book he wrote? We need to connect the dots. What is the victory that overcomes the world? Read Hebrews chapter 11. Look at all of these great women and men of God. How did they overcome? By faith! But faith in what, or whom? In Christ, our victory is in Christ. When we stop operating in faith, that means total agreement with God, it opens the door to the devil. Many believers have lost their lives because they refuse to agree with God based on some circumstances that they have experienced.

Remember the number one way that the devil used to enter into the human race was by propagating of false doctrine. False doctrines are the foundation for demonic activities. That's why Jesus said: You Shall Know the Truth, And the Truth Will Make You Free! Never forsake the truth no matter what circumstance you have experienced.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 John 5:4-5).
