When life gives you lemons
Look at these freeloaders, just sitting there being unproductive members of society. My cat has more net worth than these things. Disgraceful.

When life gives you lemons

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade".

"When life gives you oranges, make orange juice."

"When life gives you potatoes, make potato salad."

The saying "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" is a popular idiomatic phrase that means to make the best of a bad situation. The phrase suggests that one should take the negative circumstances that life may give them and try to find something positive or beneficial from it. The image of making lemonade from lemons suggests that even something sour or unpleasant can be transformed into something sweet and refreshing. The phrase is often used as a way to encourage people to stay positive and optimistic in difficult situations.

I have far too many potatoes at the moment. Here's how I would rise as a business leader to make a potato salad:

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs potatoes (red or Yukon gold work well)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 2 tablespoons pickle juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, diced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into 1/2-inch cubes.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add the potatoes and cook until tender (about 10-15 minutes).
  3. Drain the potatoes and let them cool to room temperature.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, chopped dill pickles, pickle juice, red onion, and garlic.
  5. Add the cooled potatoes to the bowl and toss to coat.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Optional: add diced hard-boiled eggs and chopped parsley for extra flavor and texture.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld together.
