When Life give you work for home, you create a Youtube channel.

Over the next year or so I will be working remotely from home. As the extremely social person, I am this started to drive me nuts! I have worked remotely for the last 2/3 years but I participated in many meetup groups, hosted events, and co-worked a bunch. Now having to stay home the majority of the week was slowly driving me to insanity. I wanted to see people, to interact with people, and connect with people. Hence, I decided to start a Youtube and Facebook Live series!

Here is how I did it.

First, a name. I needed something interesting, catchy and represented me. Aha! I choose the name Get Shit Done with Georgie. This was a semi-pun on my surname “Getton” because all my life people have said this like “ Georgie-Ann Getting it done” or “Georgie Getting shit done”. It was a perfect name.

Next, I had to figure out how I would execute this. As I am the queen of Getting Shit Done. I took to the internet to learn how to record, direct, publish, and stream videos. After hours of doing research and testing tools, I created a special formula that uses OBS Software, Youtube, Zoom, Google Hangouts, Youtube Live, Facebook Live, and Windows movie maker. [ I will be teaching a course on this formula in September stay tuned].

Then, I had to figure out what I would be presenting on my channel. What is my why? The purpose of Get Shit Done with Georgie. After writing down all the things I could talk about and do on my channel, then consulted a couple of folks. I decided on teaching tech based tools, sharing my tech ecosystem experiences and featuring some of the coolest most awesome people I know to do a live Q and A.

On to agenda. How often would I be posting? When should people be expecting content? I selected Tuesday and Wednesday for releasing tech based tool tutorials and sharing my experiences. Then Thursdays for the live series. [ Subscribe to my youtube and facebook to always know when videos are up! ]

I had my name, my tools, my purpose, and my agenda. What else did I need? Well, maybe a way to make money from doing these videos because regardless of how passionate I am I do need electricity and Wi-Fi in order to produce this content and you know food to stay alive [ ahh the simple things in life].
