When the leaders sit on the throne of Zeus
Humanity advances in cycles that seem to repeat themselves with almost imperceptible variations. Like an evolutionary spiral, each turn connects with the previous one, demonstrating that, even if we innovate, certain patterns remain unchanged. But what happens when those patterns are embodied in those who should inspire change, but they become immobilized like statues on a pedestal?
The social dynamics in the face of innovations follow a well-known curve: the Gauss bell curve. The medium majorities adopt ideas without questioning them, while at the extremes live passionate creators and critical detractors. These minority groups, although opposed, share something: they are the true driving forces of society. However, the masses, manipulated or led by the extremes, often depend on a guide that allows them to advance.
In this scenario, the solitary creator emerges, that isolated figure who, like a caterpillar, feeds on experiences and ideas to transform them into something greater. But even caterpillars need branches to support them. This is where the references come in, those leaders who could be lighthouses, guides on the horizon for those who seek to transcend.
However, in times of crisis, leaders seem more interested in staying in their position than in offering their light. Like Zeus on his throne, they shoot rays of opinion from above, but withdraw them when someone climbs in search of a flash that will transform their idea into action. This leaves creators helpless, forcing them to rely on their own resilience.
And what happens then? Lone travelers become something more: flowers that bloom even in the valley of death. In their fight, they find strengths they didn't even know they had. But this resilience should not be your only resource.

The need for active references
In times of turbulence, it is not enough to point out what is wrong. References must get off their pedestal, become active allies and guide with concrete actions, not just with speeches. Otherwise, innovation risks being lost in a sea of indifference.
Creators don't need gods on thrones; They need companions on the road. Will we be able to break the cycle and build real bridges between innovators and those who have the power to amplify their voices?
