My client, Mary, was all smiles. “I received 50 red roses, a gift card and a note that said “You are worth it”. It felt so good”.?
Mary, my client, was unexpectedly newly divorced, her daughter had just left for college in Europe, and she had been going through some really rough times.??We had been working together for 6 months and focused on self-worth, self-love and self-advocacy.
“Wow, who sent them to you?” I asked.
“I did! I decided I wanted roses for Valentine’s Day, so I sent them to myself.”
I was speechless and SO proud of her. She had come so far in?6 months!
My hope is that each one of us would embrace self- worth and self-love like Mary did, even after going through tough adversities that make us questions ourselves.?
Mary had someone in her life who knew her incredible gifts, knew how special she was and knew she was worth it; she has herself!
We often wait for someone else to make us feel good when, in fact, we already have someone with us 24x7 who can make us feel good.?That someone in your life… is YOU.?
When was the last time you sent yourself a gift?

Do you see your own self-worth??Do you have the self-love to prioritize yourself??We are sometimes our own worst?enemy, but Mary proved that we can also be our own best advocate.?
There is an effective assignment on self-worth that I give to my clients like Mary.?I’d like to share it with you.
Create a list of 100 positive “I am…” statements.?
The key is that you can write some of these yourself and?also ask family members, friends and co-workers to help you out.?You have to accept all of their positive statements because?this is how they experience you, even if you don’t see it in yourself.?If you have a hard time asking, blame it on me...
"I have been given a challenge to write 100 positive "I am..." statements.?I have to ask family, friends and co-workers.?I'd appreciate it if you could give me some feedback on what some of my "I am..." statements should be.?Thanks so much!"
Examples are, I am strong, I am compassionate, I am a great friend, I am strategic, I am an artist, I am a nature lover, etc.
Finally, I have 2 questions for you; 1) When is the last time you sent or bought yourself a gift??2) If you do the "I am..." exercise, what were some of the most surprising things you got from others or even yourself??I’d love to hear your?answers if you are willing to share.?
Peace, Joy and Self-love,
Trish
