When I'm Not Marketing, I Write About It

I try to write about marketing every day.

Most of it privately because of its general lines of scribbled notes in my newest Moleskine.

Why, though?

There are a few benefits to being consistent with content creation. First, it helps me stay sharp on the latest marketing news and trends. It keeps me in a creative frame of mind, which is essential for marketing professionals, allowing me to reflect on my own marketing successes and failures, learn from them, and improve my skillset.

Another benefit is that it helps keep me consistent.

When I'm in the habit of writing every day, I'm able to produce better content and stay on top of trends in the industry.

I try to write about digital marketing every day for a few reasons.

First, it forces me to research and keep up with the latest changes and trends. Staying current is essential in any industry, but especially in digital marketing where things can change rapidly.

Second, it allows me to work out the knowledge I've acquired. Writing is like child's play. It's a big ol' sandbox for my mind to play. It's one thing to read about marketing concepts and another to actually apply them. Writing helps me do that in a creative way.

And finally (I could say "third," but that would be expected here), it keeps me consistent. When I'm in the habit of writing regularly, I produce better quality content and don't fall behind on industry trends. It's discipline and you need to flex that muscle to be good at calling on it when you need it most.

If you're thinking about starting a marketing journal or blog, I highly recommend it! The benefits are numerous and well worth the effort. Good luck!
