When to Expect the Next iPad Mini?

While speculation has centered around upcoming releases of new iPad Pro and iPad Air models, some Apple enthusiasts are eager to know about the next iPad mini's arrival. According to Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter for Bloomberg, any new iPad mini and entry-level iPad models won't hit the shelves before late 2024.

Gurman explained, "The company is also in the process of developing updated versions of the low-end iPad and iPad mini, but these aren't slated for release until the end of the year, at the earliest." He anticipates that the revamped basic iPad might essentially be a more budget-friendly iteration of the 10th generation model introduced in 2022, while the iPad mini refresh may primarily entail a processor upgrade. The current sixth-generation iPad mini, featuring an A15 Bionic chip, made its debut in September 2021. Gurman foresees the next iteration incorporating a newer chip, with minimal other alterations. Rumors from various sources suggest potential camera enhancements and a resolution to the "jelly scrolling" issue in the display.

The entry-level iPad last received an update in October 2022. A potential eleventh-generation iPad could be priced lower than its tenth-generation counterpart, possibly leading to the discontinuation of the ninth-generation iPad with the Lightning connector.
