When is Enough, Enough?
During this years NBA playoffs we have witnessed a splurge of controversy, especially between the players and the referees. It begs me to ask -- when is enough, enough? The League has been dealing with issues on this topic for years. Yes, instant replay has caused drastic conflicts, there have been cases with referees fixing games; however, it is time we neutralize this situation and figure out how we can STOP being so dramatic and find extremely efficient and effective ways to control these important games in which can determine the outcome for NBA/professional sports legacy's.
All-NBA point guard and veteran Chris Paul is one of the most notable faces of the league and has been for years. His court savviness, toughness, and fire have made him an ELITE player of his day; however, has also gotten him into some trouble, solely on the court. In the current Golden State vs. Houston playoff series which is headed into game 2, tonight has already stirred controversy among players and NBA fans across the world. How do you officiate James Harden's jump shot? Is he jumping into the defenders or are they not letting him land? Whatever you think, what you cannot deny is that the NBA has to come up with a concrete decision for the remainder of the series. You can complain all you want, but if there are set rules you cannot dispute them at all. It is their league and they can officiate however they want if the rules are set in place. CP3 was just fined 35k for his antics; which is nothing compared to as if he got suspended for a game, they arguably would have won the series if Paul had never gotten injured last year, and this year might be his last legitimate shot to win a title during his career.
So all in all, stop the complaining. But refs understand the situation you are dealing with history on the line. Be sharp, be concise and be efficient.
