TRANSFORMING HOW WE RELATE TO OUR OURSELVES

We all hit moments in our work when emotions overwhelm us - anger when we feel slighted by a colleague, sadness when our contributions feel overlooked, fear in anticipation of a tough conversation. This is normal.

The temptation is to ignore these feelings, to stuff them down, and maintain a professional?demeanor. But when we ignore intense emotions in the moment, they often erupt in very unprofessional?ways later.

I encourage you to watch this clip introducing the Opposite Action skill in one of our recent corporate workshops. Opposite Action is simply noticing our behavior responses and choosing to do the opposite. This is not merely pretending that problems aren't real. It's learning how to shift our bodies from a place of distress to a place of calm.

Learning to recognize and effectively address emotions is one of the building blocks of a healthy workplace culture. We would love to support your team on this journey. If you enjoyed this video, explore our corporate mental health workshops and book us to train your team!

Burnout & Imposter Syndrome Workshop

TRANSFORMING HOW WE RELATE TO OUR WORKPLACES?

Many of us struggle to appreciate our skills, talents, or accomplishments at work. We experience an ongoing fear of being exposed as frauds.?

This chronic self-doubt is known as imposter syndrome.?The antidote to imposter syndrome is?vulnerability.?As therapists, we love helping teams address imposter syndrome because it helps gently expose the insecurities we each bring to our work.

The goal of this workshop is for team members to experience a breakthrough moment as they realize they're not the only ones dealing with imposter syndrome.?Once everyone breathes a collective sigh of relief, we can begin to assess our stress levels and risk of burnout together.

Our passion is bringing mental health skills beyond the therapy office, into real-world situations. We offer therapist-led corporate workshops on mental health, DEI, and emotional intelligence, customized to the needs of your organization.?View our full catalog and inquire here.

TRANSFORMING HOW WE RELATE TO OUR COMMUNITIES

Real Resilience for the New Year

Dr. Sunitha Chandy

?

The end of the year has snuck up on me yet again and while the temptation is always there to just keep my head down and keep running, I’ve seen the power of a pause.

?

For many of us, this past year has been a grind and a blur and we’re doing all we can to keep going. We’re touted for being gritty, tough, strong, and resilient, but sometimes I worry we’re misusing these words. We misuse the word resilience. We use it as a tool to push past exhaustion, justify our trauma, ignore our injuries, and keep plowing on.

?

For the coming year, I want us to experience real resilience. That’s the resilience that comes when we protect the space to bring ourselves back together. To what we care about, the people, and the purposes and got us through.
