When Effort Becomes Effortless
Francine Favret
Transformational Life & Executive Coach: Helping individuals rise, thrive, and create impact.
When we put genuine effort into what we do, the results eventually show up in our lives. It’s like nurturing a garden—each bit of care brings new growth.
?
But here’s the magic: when that effort comes from a place of true inspiration, it often feels effortless. That’s the beauty of alignment; it allows us to flow rather than struggle.
?
Whether in our projects, relationships, or the delicate unfolding of our healing journeys, the energy we give always circles back, often multiplied.
?
Tony Robbins has a saying that captures this perfectly:
?
“If you sincerely want to change your life: RAISE YOUR STANDARDS. What changes people is when their ‘SHOULDS’ become ‘MUSTS.’”
?
This resonates with me deeply.
?
To me, this shift from “should” to “must” feels like aliveness itself!
?
Lately, I’m pouring my heart into a project that brings me joy and excitement—a vision I’ve held close for years. Yet, it lingered as a “should” for so long. Now, it’s a “must,” and I can feel that certainty in my bones.
?
While I still put in effort, there’s a natural ease to it. Inspiration flows freely, and creativity feels like breathing.
?
Once I fully committed, something shifted within me.
?
My focus sharpened, and I gently released distractions, clearing space for what truly matters. I could no longer tolerate excuses holding me back.
?
This wasn’t just a project; it became a quiet revolution within myself. Raising my standards meant first raising the way I see myself.
?
I needed to ditch old beliefs, let go of limitations, and fully embrace a renewed sense of who I am as a woman.
?
A self-worth cleansing…
?
It reminds me of my dad, who passed away a little over a year ago. He was always a champion for raising the bar and fully embracing life.
?
I feel like I’m tapping into that same energy now. Perhaps all the healing work I’ve poured into the past few years, finding my footing after a whirlwind of loss, is finally taking root.

I can almost feel his quiet encouragement as I move forward.
?
Back to my dad…
?
Just a week or so before he passed, at 90 years old, he hopped on his zero-turn lawnmower for one last spin around the yard. He knew his days here were numbered, but his spirit was drawn to the thrill of aliveness.
?
That moment is my anchor. When I feel resistance or hesitation, I think of him in that small, powerful act—choosing life, choosing joy, even at the edge of goodbye.
?
I like to believe I carry some of that energy, though there are days I feel stuck.
?
My little friend, “grief,” sometimes shows up unannounced. But I’ve learned to recognize that it’s just a visit, not a permanent stay. I remind myself—and my gentle visitor—that I am safe, I am loved, and I am worthy of living fully.
?
I’m not here just to move through life’s motions; I’m here to step into an extraordinary life, whatever that may look like for each of us.
?
And here’s the key, extraordinary will look different for everyone. Life isn’t meant to be a uniform journey- it’s meant to be wrapped in unique, vibrant experiences.
?
Each experience, especially those that challenge us, helps us deepen our understanding of who we are and what truly connects us.
?
When we embrace doing something different, it invites us to co-create with life, to bring something new into the world. Something different.
?
The first step, though, is action. And when that action is sparked by inspiration, it becomes nearly effortless.
?
So here’s to embracing aliveness, to raising our standards, and to stepping into a life that feels both meaningful and effortless. Remember, when you choose to move forward with intention and inspiration, life rises to meet you.
What resonates most with you about transitioning from effort to ease? I’d love to hear your experiences in the comments.
Rooting for your journey,
